Project at Work

This is the work in progress of the house we built for Pak Gejer and his family we once wrote in Three Generations in Poverty. With the number of people in the family, they need a larger house than the other house we built for Pak Berag. So it obviously takes longer to complete and definitely more hands. Situation is worsened as the house is located a bit away from tarmac road so all heavy materials have to be hand carried.

It is very interesting to see villagers work hard – unpaid – to help their fellow to get a better house. Delay was also caused by a ceremony taking place in the village so all villagers are occupied to the event. Hope it will be completed next time we come.
